Question (Category: Pet)
I have a fish that had a anchor worm and I removed it. Is it ok to put him back in the aquarium immediatly after doing so. Already Tried:I pulled the anchor worm out with twizzers and put hydrogen peroxide on it and a little neosporine.
Info Request
It would not be advisable to place the fish back in the main aquarium yet as it should still be treated before doing so as there might be other anchor worms on the fish. Before placing the fish back in the main tank it should be treated with an anti-parasitic medicine such as General Cure, click on link below for a view of the product, for 4 days and then the fish should be observed for another 14 days to make sure it is completely cured. You do not want a fish infected with anchor worm in your main tank. Best wishes and please let me know if you have any questions. .Edited by TROPICAL FISH AFICIONADO on 8/5/2009 at 9:57 PM EST
